Position Overview:

The Vice President of Strategy and Transformation will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision for Global Products and Technology (GP&T) at GSK. This leadership position will focus on developing and overseeing comprehensive transformation initiatives to ensure that GP&T remains at the forefront of technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and articulate the GP&T strategy that aligns with the overarching Digital and Tech strategy. This includes engaging with various business unit technology leaders, research and development teams, and compliance functions to foster collaborative relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Program Oversight: Lead and manage cross-functional programs within GP&T, ensuring risk mitigation and successful delivery of outcomes. This role requires close interaction with senior stakeholders and adept management of dependencies.
  • Agile Methodology Implementation: Spearhead the adoption and scaling of agile practices within the GP&T organization, focusing on enhancing agile delivery frameworks and integrating DevOps methodologies.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions Management: Oversee the Digital and Tech portfolio related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, ensuring efficient integration processes that support GSK's evolving business model.
  • Portfolio Management Office Leadership: Direct a value-driven Project Management Office (PMO) that encompasses governance, planning, reporting, and risk management, while promoting continuous improvement across project portfolios.
  • Financial Operations and Governance: Establish and manage business services for GP&T, overseeing substantial vendor contracts and budgetary allocations.
  • User Experience and Design Leadership: Champion user-centered design principles within GP&T, leading a team dedicated to enhancing employee experience through effective design practices.
  • Chief of Staff Responsibilities: Act as the Chief of Staff for the Chief Technology Officer, facilitating leadership meetings and managing special projects to drive organizational objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and nurture relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaboration across various functions.
  • Cultural Leadership: Drive cultural initiatives within GP&T, fostering an inclusive environment where all employees can thrive and contribute their best work.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale sourcing and product delivery initiatives across diverse geographical regions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a track record of holding external partners accountable.
  • Extensive experience managing relationships with senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Experience in leading global teams with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, business-critical situations.
