Job Overview

As a Crisis Support Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to deliver a high-quality, recovery-oriented service to individuals facing various mental health challenges, including those with autistic traits and additional support requirements such as learning disabilities, physical health concerns, and substance misuse. Your role will emphasize fostering independence and promoting social inclusion. With a background in community-based mental health services, you will have the ability to inspire, engage, and motivate clients effectively.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as a Crisis Support Specialist, you will be tasked with providing a top-tier, recovery-focused service to clients with diverse mental health needs. Your experience in community mental health settings will be crucial in helping you to inspire and motivate individuals. You will be responsible for:

  • Conducting one-on-one engagements with clients to understand their unique needs and barriers.
  • Facilitating activities both within the service and in the broader community.
  • Performing administrative duties and signposting clients to additional resources.
  • Collaborating with fellow Crisis Support Specialists, Peer Support Workers, and Clinicians to ensure the delivery of person-centered care.
  • Supporting individuals in a non-clinical environment, focusing on reducing immediate distress for those at risk of self-harm or experiencing trauma.
  • Providing information, safety planning, and signposting for clients and their families to address their holistic needs.

About the Organization
