As a Crisis Support Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to deliver a high-quality, recovery-oriented service to individuals facing various mental health challenges, including those with autistic traits, learning disabilities, physical health concerns, and substance misuse issues. Your role will focus on fostering independence and promoting social inclusion. With a background in community-based mental health services, you will have the ability to inspire, engage, and motivate clients effectively.
Key Responsibilities
In the position of Crisis Support Specialist, you will be tasked with providing exceptional, recovery-focused support to clients with diverse mental health needs. Your duties will include:
- Engaging in one-on-one interactions and facilitating group activities within the service and the broader community.
- Performing administrative tasks and guiding clients to additional resources and services.
- Collaborating with fellow Crisis Support Specialists, Peer Support Workers, and Clinicians to ensure the highest standard of person-centered care.
- Supporting individuals in a non-clinical environment aimed at alleviating immediate distress for those at risk of self-harm or experiencing trauma.
- Providing essential information, safety planning, and referrals to meet the holistic needs of clients and their families.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals with experience in supporting mental health service users who can inspire and engage clients effectively. You should possess the ability to identify barriers and understand client needs while demonstrating excellent motivational skills. Familiarity with working with individuals facing complex challenges, including mental health, learning disabilities, and substance misuse, is advantageous. A background in community service is essential, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
