Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Coordinator

Location: Dyce, Aberdeen

Gregory Group is excited to announce an opening for a Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Coordinator, located in Dyce, Aberdeen.

This role may require occasional travel to various operational sites as necessary.

Key Responsibilities of the HSEQ Coordinator include:

  • Promoting the core values of Gregory Group by aligning with the company's objectives and primary mission through the leadership of Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality initiatives.
  • Monitoring and supporting Health & Safety and Quality standards across all sites.
  • Advocating for enhancements in Health & Safety and Quality standards, including the Group's Health & Safety Reporting Management System.
  • Providing guidance on relevant regulations, best practices, and legal compliance to operational sites.
  • Assisting in the implementation of the Health & Safety Management System to uphold ISO and BRC certifications.
  • Supporting the launch of new operational ventures.
  • Building strong relationships and influencing various operational sectors.
  • Collaborating with Site and Department Managers, as well as the HSEQ Central team, to drive continuous improvements in HSEQ management processes and performance metrics.
  • Ensuring the adoption of best practices in HSEQ management, including hazard reporting, safety discussions, accident documentation, investigations, trend analysis, risk assessments, and employee engagement.
  • Aiding in the execution of initiatives to foster a robust HSEQ culture.
  • Supporting HSEQ audit programs and facilitating the resolution of corrective actions.
  • Maintaining the integrity of HSEQ performance metrics.
  • Contributing to the development and training of the Health & Safety Ambassador community.
  • Ensuring contractors are properly vetted and provide necessary documentation.
  • Assisting in the formulation of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Facilitating the dissemination of HSEQ information to employees through various communication channels.
  • Championing the internal 'Safety First' initiative.
  • Considering and documenting Business Continuity Planning (BCP).

Essential Qualifications for the HSEQ Coordinator:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar capacity, preferably within a related sector such as distribution and warehousing.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an HSE or comparable role.
  • An industry-recognized qualification, such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • A proven track record of enhancing safety performance through behavioral and cultural shifts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills at all organizational levels, with comfort in presenting to senior management.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work hours as required by the business.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide timely solutions.
  • Diligent and conscientious work ethic.
  • Capability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards.
  • A valid UK Driving Licence is essential due to travel requirements.

Desirable Qualifications for the HSEQ Coordinator:

  • Experience in transport and warehousing.
  • Progressing towards the NEBOSH National Diploma.
  • Familiarity with BRC Warehousing and Transport Standards.
  • Background in finance.
  • Qualification in Continuous Improvement methodologies.
