Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Coordinator

Location: Dyce, Aberdeen

Gregory Group is excited to announce an opening for a Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Coordinator based in Dyce, Aberdeen.

This role may require occasional travel to various sites as necessary.

Key Responsibilities of the HSEQ Coordinator include:

  • Promoting the Gregory Way by aligning with the Group's Objectives and primary Purpose (5P's), while leading and supporting Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality strategies.
  • Monitoring and assisting with Health & Safety and Quality standards across sites.
  • Advocating for enhancements in Health & Safety and Quality standards and awareness, including the Group's H&S Reporting Management System.
  • Providing guidance on relevant regulations, best practices, trends, and legal compliance.
  • Aiding in the implementation of the Company's Health & Safety Management System to uphold ISO and BRC accreditations.
  • Supporting new operational launches.
  • Building strong relationships and influencing operational business areas.
  • Collaborating with Site and Department Managers and the HSEQ Central team to drive continuous improvements in HSEQ management processes and metrics, enhancing overall site and business performance.
  • Ensuring the adoption of best practice HSEQ management processes, including hazard reporting, safety discussions, accident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, trend analysis, risk assessments, safe work systems, employee engagement, monitoring, and training.
  • Assisting in initiatives to foster a robust HSEQ awareness culture.
  • Supporting HSEQ audit programs and ensuring the resolution of any corrective actions.
  • Maintaining the integrity of HSEQ performance metrics.
  • Contributing to the development, education, and training of the Health & Safety Ambassador community.
  • Ensuring contractors are approved and provide necessary documentation.
  • Assisting in the creation of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Facilitating the communication of HSEQ materials to employees through various channels (e.g., toolbox talks, notice boards, staff briefs, emails, etc.).
  • Championing the Group's internal 'Safety First' initiative.
  • Considering and documenting Business Continuity Planning (BCP).

Essential Qualifications for the HSEQ Coordinator:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a related industry such as distribution and warehousing.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an HSE or similar position.
  • An industry-recognized qualification, such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • A strong history of enhancing safety performance through behavioral and cultural changes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to senior management.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as required by the business.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide timely solutions.
  • Diligent and conscientious work ethic.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience with ISO standards.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence for travel to other sites.

Desirable Qualifications for the HSEQ Coordinator:

  • Experience in transport and warehousing.
  • Working towards the NEBOSH National Diploma.
  • Familiarity with BRC Warehousing and Transport Standards.
  • Financial experience.
  • Qualification in Continuous Improvement methodologies.
