The role is pivotal in delivering comprehensive administrative and personal assistant support to our General Surgery consultants and their teams. As a clinical administration coordinator, effective communication is crucial, involving interactions with patients to address their inquiries, coordinating with clinical networks, and collaborating with Multidisciplinary Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting correspondence for clinics and discharge summaries
  • Overseeing consultant schedules
  • Maintaining patient records and clinical databases
  • Managing communications from patients and general practitioners
  • Ensuring treatment referrals and cancer tracking objectives are met
  • Documenting notes from multidisciplinary team meetings

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • GCSE English Language, Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in word processing - OCR III (or equivalent RSA III)
  • Typing proficiency - OCR III (or equivalent RSA III)

Experience:

Essential:

  • At least 2 years of administrative or secretarial experience
  • Proficient in various IT applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Able to manage competing deadlines and pressures
  • Capable of handling sensitive situations with patients, families, and colleagues

Desirable:

  • Experience in supervising staff
  • Experience within the NHS

Skills:
