York, York City, United Kingdom York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are pleased to announce an opportunity to join our esteemed organization as a Clinical Research Program Coordinator for a significant clinical trial.

In this role, you will be an integral part of a national research team being formed across the UK, taking charge of managing the trial at various NHS locations in England. This position allows you to engage from the initial phases, contributing to the setup and approval processes, and subsequently overseeing the execution of this innovative trial over the next few years.

The successful candidate will also be tasked with the daily oversight of additional research initiatives, studies, and trials as needed. A solid understanding of the regulatory landscape governing research within the NHS is essential, as you will be providing initial guidance and support to researchers.

This role is dynamic, offering the chance to supervise multiple concurrent research projects across a potentially diverse clinical spectrum. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals with prior experience in trial or study management who thrive on challenges, are eager to take initiative, and can adapt to the evolving demands of research while effectively prioritizing competing tasks.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, be self-driven, an effective communicator, proactive, and capable of working independently within a collaborative team setting.

Additionally, the role requires line management responsibilities for other team members, and national travel to support research sites may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Provide proactive research guidance and assistance to Investigators and research teams. Develop, establish, manage, and execute research projects and activities. Support researchers with all aspects of sponsorship and governance applications, including amendments, adverse event reporting, and breach documentation. Collaborate with research teams to actively manage project-specific tasks, ensuring milestones and recruitment goals are achieved, delivering projects on schedule and within budget. Coordinate various management, steering group, and project-specific team meetings to maintain appropriate progress towards objectives. Serve as a liaison for the project across relevant support departments, including sponsor, finance, funder, pharmacy, laboratory, and clinical teams. Maintain research databases and assist in the development of research reports. Work collaboratively with broader Research and Development Teams, providing support to projects as needed. Assist in securing additional funding and investments through various grant schemes to ensure the service's sustainability. Manage staff involved in providing expert administrative support for research projects.
