Position Overview:

This role presents an opportunity to join a leading oil and gas machining service provider that specializes in premium threading and general machining of oil tools. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be instrumental in guaranteeing that machined components adhere to rigorous client and licensed standards while balancing cost-effectiveness with quality assurance. You will oversee the correct execution of quality plans and monitor the workflow of QC Inspection activities for all testing on a daily basis. This position is vital to the operation of the business and necessitates a high level of proficiency in measurement and gauging, as well as a commitment to monitoring and enhancing methods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect Machined Components: Conduct comprehensive inspections of all machined and manufactured components to ensure adherence to client and licensed standards.
  • Material Certification: Evaluate and approve all material certifications to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Traceability: Assign trace numbers to work orders, ensuring precise tracking and traceability.
  • Calibration Management: Oversee and maintain the calibration system for all measurement instruments and gauges.
  • Third-Party Inspections: Facilitate and coordinate with third-party inspectors to ensure smooth inspection processes.
  • Quality Plan Execution: Ensure the accurate implementation of quality plans and supervise daily QC inspection activities.
  • Professionalism & Client Care: Maintain a high standard of professionalism, prioritizing client care.
  • Workplace Standards & Compliance: Uphold a high standard of cleanliness in the work area and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and company policies.
  • Process Enhancement: Contribute to the development of systems and improvements in operational practices and processes.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Assist other departments and undertake additional responsibilities as required by business needs and management.
Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, alternating between day and night shifts in two-week intervals.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings; comfortable utilizing the latest inspection and measuring tools.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Background in an engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Quality Management Knowledge: Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and adherence to quality assurance protocols.
  • Client Orientation: Strong sense of client focus (internal/external).
Preferred:
  • Oilfield Knowledge: Experienced oilfield engineer with expertise in premium threading, particularly Vallourec/Tenaris.
  • Inspection Background: Solid experience in machining and inspection.
  • VAM Certification: Possession of VAM certification.
  • Technical Adaptability: Ability to keep pace with an evolving range of products and services.
