Position Overview:

This role presents an opportunity to join a premier O&G machining service provider that specializes in the high-quality threading and general machining of oil tools. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring that machined components meet rigorous client and regulatory standards while balancing cost-effectiveness with quality assurance. You will oversee the proper execution of quality plans and supervise the daily pipeline of QC inspection activities. This position is vital to the operational success of the business and necessitates a high level of skill in measurement and gauging, as well as a commitment to monitoring and enhancing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspection of Machined Components: Conduct comprehensive inspections of all machined and manufactured components to ensure adherence to client and regulatory standards.
  • Material Verification: Review and authorize all material certifications to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Traceability Management: Assign trace numbers to work orders, ensuring precise tracking and traceability.
  • Calibration Oversight: Manage and maintain the calibration system for all measurement instruments and gauges.
  • Coordination of Third-Party Inspections: Facilitate and collaborate with third-party inspectors to ensure smooth inspection processes.
  • Implementation of Quality Plans: Ensure the accurate execution of quality plans and monitor daily QC inspection activities.
  • Professionalism and Client Relations: Maintain a high standard of professionalism, prioritizing customer care.
  • Workplace Compliance: Uphold high standards of cleanliness in the work area and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Process Enhancement: Contribute to the development of systems and improvements in operational practices and processes.
  • Interdepartmental Support: Assist other departments and undertake additional responsibilities as required by business needs and management.
Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, alternating between day and night shifts in two-week intervals.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings; comfortable utilizing modern inspection and measuring tools.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Background in an engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Quality Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and adherence to quality assurance protocols.
  • Client Orientation: Strong commitment to customer focus (both internal and external).
Preferred:
  • Oilfield Knowledge: Experienced oilfield engineer with expertise in premium threading, particularly Vallourec/Tenaris.
  • Inspection Background: Robust experience in machining and inspection.
  • VAM Certification: Possession of VAM certification.
  • Adaptability: Ability to keep pace with an evolving portfolio of products and services.
