We are seeking a highly skilled NDT Inspector to join our team at NOV. As an NDT Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and Evaluate Test Results: Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures.
- NDT Techniques: Interpret the results of all methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) such as Industrial Radiography, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, and visual testing.
- Quality Assurance and Control: Monitor and report Quality Assurance and Quality Control aspects of required work scope.
- Quality Documentation: Control and ensure the accuracy of all quality documentation related to customer requirements.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with departmental managers, staff, and suppliers to ensure quality, aiming to minimize the costs of reworking or waste and maximize customer satisfaction with our products.
- Corrective Actions: Make recommendations for corrective actions, continually identifying areas of improvement.
- Equipment Operation: Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products or materials.
- Product Examination: Examine product using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
- Reporting: Prepare reports on non-destructive testing (NDT) results.
- Specialized Testing: Conduct liquid penetrant tests to locate surface cracks by coating objects with fluorescent dyes, cleaning excess penetrant, and applying developer.
- Documentation: Document non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, processes, or results.
- Visual Examination: Visually examine materials, structures, or components using tools and equipment for signs of corrosion, metal fatigue, cracks, or other flaws.
- Education: HNC in a relevant engineering qualification or equivalent (essential).
- Qualifications: ASNT TC 1A level II (or recognized equivalent which complies to EN473) in magnetic particle examination, dye penetrant examination (essential).
- Desirable Qualifications: Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic Testing, Heat Treatment.
- Experience: Quality inspection, auditing, and testing experience (essential). Experience with implementation of corrective action programs (essential). Working knowledge within an engineering manufacturing environment (essential).
- Skills and Training: Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and Outlook) (essential). Quality Management System (essential). Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of QA (essential). Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (essential). Examination of welds and castings (essential). Working knowledge of industry standards e.g. ISO, ASME, ANSI, ASTM, NACE, (Theoretical and Working Knowledge is a MUST) (essential). Proficient in reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings (essential).
