We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Lead with extensive experience in civil engineering and cabling operations within the telecom sector. This role is pivotal in overseeing our commercial team and ensuring the effective management of telecom infrastructure maintenance contracts.

As the Senior Commercial Lead, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading commercial activities across various projects, including Design, Testing & Commissioning, Materials, and Power.
  • Collaborating with project delivery teams to manage work packages and oversee project change controls.
  • Gathering and analyzing project data in partnership with Project and Contracts Managers.
  • Managing work package costs through accurate forecasting and budget oversight.
  • Preparing comprehensive internal and external commercial reports.
  • Establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure seamless communication.
  • Overseeing costs related to direct labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Estimating changes and variations using established methodologies.
  • Forecasting costs and measuring the financial performance of completed work packages.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of commercial strategies.
  • Conducting meetings with clients and senior management to align cost projections with project timelines.
  • Proactively engaging with Tender and Bid teams to attract new clients and projects.
  • Formulating strategies for supplier engagement across the UK.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

It is essential to fully comprehend and implement the company's safety policies and procedures. You will ensure that all contract programs are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. A culture of 'Right First Time' must be fostered throughout the organization, driving compliance with all applicable regulatory measures.

To achieve turnover and profitability targets, you will maximize efficiency while minimizing costs associated with failures. Building and maintaining strong client relationships across all organizational levels is crucial. You will also champion innovative working methods to enhance service delivery and support initiatives aimed at implementing change.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing complex bids and multiple projects.
  • Strong understanding of pricing, costs, and profit margins.
  • In-depth knowledge of business profit and loss dynamics.
  • Experience in dispute resolution processes.
  • Familiarity with commercial construction law.
  • Proficient in working with NEC, JCT, ICE, and bespoke contracts.
  • Exceptional numerical and analytical skills, with a proven ability to solve problems and make informed decisions.
  • Strong IT proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
