Are you a seasoned professional in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management seeking a new challenge?

We are currently in search of a SHE and Regulatory Affairs Manager to join a prominent scientific organization.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the Safety, Health, Environmental, Industrial Quality, Security, and Regulatory obligations for the UK operations of the business. Your leadership will provide essential technical guidance to various plants, projects, and corporate offices across the UK, ensuring the effective management of the SHE and Industrial Quality systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your responsibilities as the SHE and Regulatory Affairs Manager will encompass a variety of tasks, including:

1. Serving as the primary authority on safety, security, health, and environmental issues to guarantee compliance with legislation - leading the SHEQ&S teams and influencing management to enhance SHEQ&S standards.

2. Managing external relations with regulatory agencies such as the HSE, EA, and BSI, representing the organization’s position in SHEQ&S reporting, meetings, audits, and inspections.

3. Overseeing the management of all regulatory licenses and permits, ensuring the sites operate within legal frameworks.

4. Leading the development and implementation of a technical training and competence management system to ensure that all technical and operational personnel are adequately trained and competent in their roles.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

1. A relevant degree in a chemical or scientific discipline, along with a Professional Health and Safety Qualification such as a NEBOSH diploma.

2. A strong technical background with significant experience in a production or operations setting, including a minimum of three years in a regulatory role within an upper-tier COMAH site.

3. Proven experience in managing SHEQ&S professionals, with demonstrated leadership capabilities and expertise in management systems, including design, implementation, and auditing (ISO 9001/14001/18001).
