Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Patient Care Coordinator within the Urology and Vascular Department. This fixed-term position is crucial for the seamless administration of patient pathways, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care throughout their treatment journey.

The successful candidate will be a vital member of our multi-disciplinary team, possessing exceptional organizational and communication skills, along with a strong commitment to delivering exemplary service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

The primary objective of this role is to oversee the administrative processes related to patient pathways, facilitating an efficient and effective service for patients. The responsibilities include:

  • Managing the administrative and secretarial functions associated with patient pathways, ensuring that all national targets are achieved, particularly the 18-week, 2-week wait, and diagnostic wait targets.
  • Serving as a primary contact for patients, providing them with access to healthcare professionals, appointment information, and assistance with inquiries.
  • Overseeing clinic profiles to optimize capacity utilization, including regular assessments of clinic usage and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Delivering a high-quality secretarial service to the Ear Nose and Throat Clinical Team, which includes the implementation of audio dictation and voice recognition services, as well as ensuring timely quality assurance of documents.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Criteria

  • GCSE, A-Level, or equivalent educational qualifications.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology acquired through education, training, or relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with IT packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
