Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Healthcare Pathway Coordinator within the General Surgery Secretaries, providing essential support to the Breast department.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the trust's data recording systems, acquiring the necessary skills to correct any inaccuracies in the hospital's internal databases.

2. The incumbent will be tasked with liaising with patients and their families regarding appointment and admission information, both verbally and in written form.

3. Assist in capacity and demand assessments to pinpoint limitations and opportunities for enhancement.

4. Aid in the validation and performance oversight of Patient Tracking List (PTL) monitoring, ensuring that bookings, data entries, clinic operations, and elective admissions outcomes are effectively managed to meet the 18-week targets.

5. Report to the Service Support Manager, delivering a user-centered administrative service to the General Surgery Team.

6. Ensure efficient tracking of patients throughout their care journey and monitor adherence to waiting time objectives.

7. Provide support across the team as needed.

8. Adapt working hours as necessary to meet service demands.

9. Guarantee full compliance with the Trust's waiting list policy in alignment with the national 18-week target.

10. Implement and adhere to service modifications as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of GCSE or equivalent Level 2 Literacy and Level 2 Numeracy.
  • Proof of Maths and English qualifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft IT applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and other relevant software.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with NHS software, policies, and procedures.
  • Business Administration Level 2 qualification.
  • Microsoft Office IT certification.
  • Experience working in an NHS Hospital environment.
