Durham, Durham, United Kingdom Northumbrian Water Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Water Process Control Technician to enhance our Water Quality Process Support team. This role is pivotal in delivering technical expertise to our operational divisions that ensure the provision of safe drinking water to our customers in the Essex and Suffolk regions.

The focus of this position is to support our water supply teams, ensuring exceptional water quality while safeguarding the environment. You will conduct thorough investigations to identify areas where water treatment performance does not align with our standards.

This opportunity allows the successful candidate to refine their analytical and problem-solving capabilities, enabling effective monitoring of treatment processes.

In this role, you will engage in continuous improvement projects, leveraging your creativity to propose innovative ideas and enhancements, including the dissemination of best practices through coaching to the broader team.

Your responsibilities will include raising awareness of water treatment processes and controls, thereby fostering a higher level of competence among the Water Supply teams.

Collaborating closely with our Water Supply and Water Quality teams, you will assess asset conditions and performance utilizing SCADA, our advanced water monitoring system designed to meet operational needs. You will perform root cause analysis by examining data quality and accuracy, generating comprehensive reports, and pinpointing opportunities for enhancement.

A valid full driving license is mandatory. Please be aware that this position may necessitate a background check prior to employment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for the Water Treatment Process Control Technician role will regularly analyze water quality performance metrics. You should be adept at interpreting data to ensure the effective and efficient operation of our water treatment processes.

This role is diverse, requiring the ability to work both collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision while being adaptable to a varied workload.

You will be responsible for report writing and training team members, thus proven communication skills are essential. Additionally, you will provide technical support to personnel operating our water treatment systems, engaging in data analysis and interpretation to identify issues and propose solutions for optimizing assets and processes.

This position presents an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to expand their technical expertise, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and take initiative in influencing and shaping operational practices within the Water team.
