In this role, you will report directly to the Operations Leader and collaborate closely with Account Managers and other members of the Operations Team. The Industrial Water Quality Specialist will be tasked with meeting established objectives while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations within a designated portfolio of customer accounts. This position involves providing service, recommending improvements, and communicating water treatment performance to client representatives in alignment with contractual agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety, and Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment at all times. Conduct Legionella sampling in accordance with established standards. Actively participate in Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) systems and documentation management.
Service Delivery: Ensure that the defined scope of work (Service Plans) is executed in accordance with client specifications. Service Plans encompass sampling and analysis of industrial water systems, including cooling towers, boilers, and domestic systems for specified parameters, along with providing consultation on chemical treatment and fundamental technical concepts to clients.
Reporting: Prepare, finalize, and submit Consultant Service Reports (CSRs) within agreed timelines, ensuring that CSRs comprehensively detail Observations, Consequences, and Actions for client review. Maintain professional and timely communication with clients and internal teams, escalating issues to the Operations Leader and Commercial colleagues as necessary. Engage in review meetings with clients to contribute operational and technical insights. Demonstrate strong organizational skills to effectively schedule and plan site visits throughout the month. Ensure awareness and adherence to safe chemical delivery and storage protocols.
Equipment Management: Calibrate personal and on-site analytical instruments, generating calibration certificates as required. Perform routine maintenance on proprietary and third-party technologies and equipment. Operate dosing pumps, adjusting dosing rates based on on-site test results, and safely prime as needed. Independently troubleshoot issues encountered on-site and escalate or resolve as appropriate. Utilize Veolia's digital data visualization platform (InSight) to generate CSRs, monitor trends and alarms, manage inventory, add parameters and assets as necessary, and escalate any issues as required.
The ideal candidate will possess:
● A background in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent scientific qualification,
● OR relevant experience in a similar role
● Laboratory and analytical expertise
● Experience as an on-site chemist
● A valid driving license
