About the Role:

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors are increasingly crucial for investors, clients, financiers, and other stakeholders in both public and private sectors, both in the UK and worldwide. Concurrently, the requirements for corporate sustainability reporting are advancing and becoming more sophisticated. There is a growing demand for detailed and reliable information, alongside new mandatory obligations emerging, as well as a fundamental need for transparent and comparable reporting.

The ESG team at Drax is dedicated to ensuring a robust and effective ESG function that supports and informs the newly established Sustainability Framework. This team maintains governance and accountability throughout the organization to guarantee that ESG disclosures are compliant and keep pace with evolving market practices, ultimately contributing to the Group's broader strategy and ambitions.

  • In this position, you will...
    Assist in executing a double materiality assessment.
  • Conduct and uphold risk evaluations concerning ESG issues, ensuring the integration of ESG in risk assessments across various functions.
  • Oversee and enhance the ESG data management system; ensure the collection and analysis of all ESG metrics, including external assurance for relevant ESG metrics.
  • Facilitate effective external disclosures on ESG, which includes:
    Generating ESG content for annual reports and the corporate website
    Completing ESG surveys and scorecards for investors and other stakeholders
    Addressing customer surveys as needed.
  • Stay informed about emerging requirements and evolving market practices related to ESG.
    Ensure that insights and lessons learned from all activities are communicated within the organization and that the accountable board leader is addressing them.

Who We're Looking For:

To excel in this role, you should possess experience in ESG disclosures, including report generation, non-financial data reporting processes, internal controls, and external assurance. A solid understanding of ESG frameworks, disclosure requirements, and emerging regulatory expectations is highly desirable.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential, enabling you to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues across all levels of the organization. Additionally, project management skills, including decision-making, time management, organization, and evaluative capabilities, are crucial.
