Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team at Go2personnel Solutions. As an Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will play a key role in advancing our Environmental Management and Sustainability initiatives, ensuring they align with and drive our business strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Environmental Management and Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement effective Environmental Management and Sustainability strategies to drive business growth and reduce environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with Business Units: Work closely with various business units to foster a positive environmental impact across our operations, contributing to our commitment to sustainable practices.
  • Deliver Management Strategies: Lead the effective delivery of associated management strategies and action plans to exceed client expectations and prevent environmental incidents and non-conformance.
  • Manage Environmental KPIs: Liaise with and report on relevant environmental, sustainability, and carbon capture KPIs and our progress against business targets and objectives.
  • Drive Awareness and Education: Lead on, drive awareness, and deliver the requirements of the Environment and Carbon strategies within the division.
  • Support Operational Teams: Provide environmental guidance and advice to operational teams and support the production of internal and external reports.
  • Investigate Environmental Incidents: Lead on VSI environmental incident investigations and support and advise on corrective actions.
  • Liaise with Regulators: Liaise with regulators and other stakeholders to drive cross-contract improvements.
  • Conduct Audits: Carry out internal and external audits of contracts, projects, and supply chain.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 7 years' experience in the construction, utilities, or telecoms industry or relevant environmental experience in a similar sector.
  • Team Management: Experience of managing diverse teams of environmental specialists on construction projects across a multidisciplinary team.

  • Organisation and Time Management: Ability to organise workload effectively for the purpose of meeting deadlines.
  • Flexibility and Autonomy: Ability to demonstrate flexibility/versatility combined with initiative, drive, and tenacity to deliver objectives.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organisation, creating engagement and support.
  • Autonomy and Adaptability: Ability to work autonomously and flexibly, responding to business needs.
  • Challenge and Communication: Ability to challenge poor performance and approach difficult conversations in an appropriate and engaging manner.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualification: Degree-level qualification in an appropriate Environmental, Carbon Management, or related discipline (or equivalent).
  • Professional Membership: Practitioner or Full Membership with IEMA or working towards, or equivalent professional body grade.
  • CPD: Up-to-date CPD (evidence to be provided).
  • Management Qualification: Management/Leadership qualification.
  • Project Management Qualification: Project Management Qualification would be advantageous.
  • Management Standards: Experience of maintaining or reaching externally audited management standards, including ISO, along with but not limited to Achilles, Carbon Reduce, etc.
  • Senior Environmental/Sustainability Position: Recent proven experience of working in a Senior Environment/Sustainability position.
