About the Role
Forbes Solicitors is seeking a skilled Corporate Legal Advisor to enhance our distinguished Commercial team located at our Walton Summit Office.

This position is a full-time commitment of 36.25 hours per week, operating Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm. Opportunities for hybrid working arrangements may be considered based on operational needs.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Corporate Solicitor to integrate into our Commercial Team, advancing their career while contributing their expertise to a collaborative and professional environment. The position demands a fast-paced, client-focused approach, while also ensuring a sustainable work-life balance that aligns with the regional context.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be tasked with achieving successful outcomes, including:

  • Managing a diverse caseload of Commercial Client matters, encompassing distribution and agency agreements, general terms and conditions for goods and services, competition law issues, complex transaction preparations, franchise agreements, professional agreements, data protection, and intellectual property concerns;
  • Providing both written and verbal legal advice in litigated and non-litigated scenarios;
  • Facilitating communications with clients, opposing parties, Courts/Tribunals, and third parties to ensure file progression;
  • Engaging in business development activities, including presentations, training sessions, articles/newsletters, and submissions to Chambers & Legal 500;
  • Delivering and overseeing value-added services such as client helpline interactions, legal surgeries, and briefing notes;
  • Assisting the Head of Department, Partners, and other advisors with their cases, as well as contributing to departmental strategy and business objectives;
  • Overseeing, mentoring, and training Solicitors and Paralegals to support their professional development and business goals;
  • Ensuring adherence to internal and external business standards, including ISO:9001 quality control and SRA Principles/Code of Conduct;
  • Monitoring and reporting on financial and business performance, ensuring profitable delivery of work;
  • Contributing to internal continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing initiatives;
  • Collaborating across departments on joint files, projects, and events;
  • Participating in the formulation of the departmental business plan;
  • Building and nurturing positive relationships with current and prospective clients to enhance the firm's reputation and drive business growth.

Qualifications
We will consider applicants who demonstrate the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

  • Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent), with 0 to 4 years of post-qualification experience;
  • Essential prior experience in Commercial law;
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload, meet deadlines, and generate fees in line with targets;
  • Interest or experience in handling large projects within Commercial/Corporate law;
  • Strong presentation and client management skills, with commercial acumen;
  • Proficient in IT systems, including Word, Outlook, and case management software;
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities;
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently;
  • Effective supervisory and management skills;
  • Collaborative team player with reliability and enthusiasm;
  • Meticulous attention to detail;
