We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join our team at Forbes Solicitors. As a key member of our private client department, you will play a vital role in driving business growth and development, while delivering exceptional client service and expertise in Court of Protection matters.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement business strategies to expand our Court of Protection services and build a strong client base.
- Manage a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications, property and affairs files, and personal injury and clinical negligence litigation settlements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of our departmental strategic plan, driving business growth and productivity.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, referrers, and stakeholders, enhancing our firm's profile and reputation.
- Support the Head of Department, Partners, and other advisors on their cases, and contribute to the delivery of our departmental strategy and business objectives.
- Manage, supervise, train, coach, and mentor Solicitors and Paralegals to facilitate the achievement of their business objectives and professional development goals.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external business requirements, including ISO:9001 quality control, SRA Principles/Code of Conduct, and Court & Tribunal deadlines.
- Monitor and report on your financial and business performance, and that of colleagues under your management/supervision responsibilities, to deliver work in a profitable manner.
- Contribute to internal continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
- Provide inter-departmental support and collaboration on joint files, projects, and events.
- Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years PQE in a specialist Court of Protection department/team.
- Previous Court of Protection experience and expert knowledge of the sector is essential.
- Experience of handling large projects and business development activities.
- Strong business development skills to expand the team.
- Good understanding of how to deliver and grow team productivity.
- Strong presentation and client handling skills, and be commercially astute.
- Good knowledge of IT systems, including Word, Outlook, and case management systems.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A high level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- The ability to supervise, manage, develop, motivate, and inspire others effectively.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team and be reliable and enthusiastic.
