Job Title: Associate/Senior Associate - Court of Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court of Protection Specialist to join our award-winning private client team at Forbes Solicitors. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional legal services to our clients and contributing to the growth and development of our department.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced solicitor to join our private client team and take on a leadership role in our Court of Protection department. You will be responsible for handling a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications, managing property and affairs files, and providing expert advice to clients.

You will also be expected to actively engage in business development activities, including presentations, training events, and marketing initiatives, to drive growth and expansion of our department. Additionally, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring junior solicitors and paralegals, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications and managing property and affairs files.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on Court of Protection matters.
  • Actively engage in business development activities, including presentations, training events, and marketing initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor junior solicitors and paralegals, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and success.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our department, including identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies to expand our services.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) with minimum 4 years PQE in a specialist Court of Protection department/team.
  • Previous Court of Protection experience and expert knowledge of the sector.
  • Experience of handling large projects and business development activities.
  • Strong business development skills to expand the team.
  • Good understanding of how to deliver and grow team productivity.
  • Strong presentation and client handling skills and be commercially astute.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, including Word, Outlook, and case management systems.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A high level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • The ability to supervise, manage, develop, motivate, and inspire others effectively.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team and be reliable and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
