About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Property Solicitor to join our award-winning team at Forbes Solicitors. As a key member of our Commercial Property Team, you will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling a varied caseload of Commercial Property matters, including sales, purchases, and leases of land or property, development projects, property finance, and leasehold management;
  • Providing written and verbal advice in litigated and non-litigated matters;
  • Communicating with clients, opponents, courts, and third parties to progress files;
  • Contributing to business development through presentations, training events, articles, and submissions;
  • Providing value-added services, such as client helpline calls, legal surgeries, and briefing notes;
  • Supporting the Head of Department, Partners, and other advisors on their cases and departmental strategy;
  • Managing and supervising Solicitors and Paralegals to achieve business objectives and professional development goals;
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external business requirements, including quality control and regulatory standards;
  • Monitoring and reporting on financial and business performance to deliver work in a profitable manner;
  • Contributing to internal continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing;
  • Inter-departmental support and collaboration on joint files, projects, and events;
  • Contributing to the development of the departmental business plan;
  • Building positive relationships with clients and enhancing the firm's profile to drive business growth;

Requirements

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) with NQ up to 5 years PQE, previous demonstrable Commercial Property law experience, and proven experience of handling own caseload and managing deadlines. You should have strong presentation and client handling skills, be commercially astute, and have good knowledge of IT systems. You should also be able to work unsupervised, have good self-motivation skills, and be able to supervise and manage others effectively.
