About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Property Solicitor to join our award-winning team at Forbes Solicitors. As a key member of our Commercial Property Team, you will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handling a varied caseload of Commercial Property matters, including sales, purchases, and leases of land or property, development projects, property finance, and investment.
  • Providing written and verbal advice in litigated and non-litigated matters.
  • Communicating with clients, opponents, courts, and third parties to progress files.
  • Contributing to business development through presentations, training events, articles, and submissions.
  • Providing value-added services, such as client helpline calls, legal surgeries, and briefing notes.
  • Supporting the Head of Department, Partners, and other advisors on their cases and departmental strategy.
  • Managing and supervising Solicitors and Paralegals to achieve business objectives and professional development goals.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external business requirements, including quality control and regulatory standards.
  • Monitoring and reporting on financial and business performance to deliver work in a profitable manner.
  • Contributing to internal continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Inter-departmental support and collaboration on joint files, projects, and events.
  • Contributing to the development of the departmental business plan.
  • Building positive relationships with clients and enhancing the firm's profile to drive business growth.

Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) with up to 5 years PQE.
  • Previous demonstrable Commercial Property law experience and knowledge.
  • Proven experience of handling own caseload, working to deadlines, and generating fees in accordance with targets.
  • Aptitude or interest in Commercial Property.
  • Strong presentation and client handling skills.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, including Word, Outlook, and case management systems.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated.
  • Ability to supervise and manage others effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
