About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join our team at Forbes Solicitors. As a key member of our private client department, you will play a vital role in driving business growth and development, while delivering exceptional client service and expertise in Court of Protection matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Develop and implement strategies to grow and expand our Court of Protection services, identifying new business opportunities and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Case Management: Handle a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications, property and affairs files, and personal injury and clinical negligence litigation settlements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, manage, and develop a team of solicitors and paralegals, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality work and business objectives.
  • Client Service: Provide exceptional client service, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and delivering tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal and external business requirements, including ISO:9001 quality control, SRA Principles, and Court and Tribunal deadlines.
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) with minimum 4 years PQE in a specialist Court of Protection department/team.
  • Previous Court of Protection experience and expert knowledge of the sector is essential.
  • Experience of handling large projects and business development activities.
  • Strong business development skills to expand the team.
  • Good understanding of how to deliver and grow team productivity.
  • Strong presentation and client handling skills and be commercially astute.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, including Word, Outlook, and case management systems.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A high level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • The ability to supervise, manage, develop, motivate, and inspire others effectively.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team and be reliable and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
