Team/Role Overview

Employee Relations is one of Citi's Internal Investigation Units. Its mission is to serve as a trusted partner to stakeholders throughout Citi by responsibly conducting independent and thorough internal investigations of escalated concerns. including those assigned by Citi's Ethics Office.

This role provides the opportunity to be involved in a broad range of interesting and challenging Employee Relations cases (including investigations, grievances and disciplinaries) working at pace in a collaborative and supportive team, with a wide variety of stakeholders across Citi's businesses, functions and geographies.

What you'll do

  • Investigate HR-related ethics concerns raised through the Ethics Office hotline and other channels, interfacing with the Ethics Office, global and regional partners and control functions to ensure timely and thorough investigation and appropriate resolution of all issues.
  • Facilitate disciplinary action cases, including application of the standards outlined in the Global Disciplinary Review policy.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders such as Compliance, Citi Security and Investigative Services and Audit on investigations of employee misconduct.
  • Participate in a range of regulatory exams and internal audit reviews.
  • Respond to workplace concerns on behalf of senior management.
  • Work with the Employment Law team in the investigation of and response to agency charges and litigation .
  • Assist in the design, development and/or delivery of training initiatives for HR.
  • Coach and consult on the interpretation and application of HR policy and practices in all phases of employment.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Extensive ER investigations experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Great analytical skills
  • Confidence to deal with and make judgement calls in complex and nuanced situations
