Position Overview

The Employee Relations Specialist will provide essential support to our restaurant teams regarding all employee relations matters. This role will collaborate with the People Team on significant projects and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee employee relations by guiding and coaching managers in addressing personnel issues.
  • Lead employee relations protocols, including disciplinary actions, grievances, probation assessments, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Work closely with the broader People Team to identify training needs for managers and facilitate employee relations training for restaurant management.
  • Manage the People Services help desk and HR chatbot, ensuring timely responses to inquiries.
  • Assist with benefits-related questions and process benefits for new employees.
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle administration alongside the People Development Administrator for both new and existing staff.
  • Support the formulation of new people policies and update existing ones as necessary.
  • Conduct analysis and reporting on periodic employee relations data, engaging with People Business Partners and other stakeholders to review insights on key themes and trends.
  • Assist in managing early conciliation notifications or employment tribunal matters, collaborating with legal counsel to provide necessary documentation and insights.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing a high volume of employee relations cases across various levels.
  • Strong understanding of investigation, disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance management processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law and policy compliance/best practices.
  • Able to meet deadlines and exhibit a sense of urgency in resolving issues.
  • Experience in generalist people-related processes, practices, and administration.
  • CIPD Level 5 certification is desirable.
