Role Overview

The Employee Relations Specialist will provide essential support to our restaurant teams regarding all employee relations matters. This position will collaborate with the People Team on significant projects and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee employee relations by advising and coaching managers on addressing personnel issues.
  • Lead procedures related to employee relations, including disciplinary actions, grievances, probation assessments, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Work closely with the broader People Team to identify training needs for managers and facilitate employee relations training for restaurant management.
  • Manage the People Services help desk and HR chatbot, ensuring timely responses to inquiries.
  • Assist with benefits-related questions and facilitate the onboarding process for new employees.
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle administration alongside the People Development Administrator for both new and existing staff.
  • Support the creation of new people policies and the revision of existing ones.
  • Conduct analysis and reporting on periodic employee relations metrics, engaging with People Business Partners and other stakeholders to discuss insights on key themes and trends.
  • Assist in managing early conciliation notifications or employment tribunal matters, collaborating with legal advisors to provide necessary documentation and insights.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing a high volume of employee relations cases across various levels.
  • Strong understanding of investigation processes, disciplinary actions, grievance handling, absence management, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law and compliance with best practices.
  • Able to meet deadlines and exhibit a sense of urgency in resolving issues.
  • Experience in generalist HR processes, practices, and administration.
  • CIPD Level 5 certification is desirable.
