Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Employee Relations (ER) Advisor to join our HR team in London. This full-time position is pivotal in managing employee relations across our various business units, ensuring that all ER cases are handled with fairness, consistency, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for management regarding employee relations issues, providing expert support and guidance.
  • Monitor and track ER cases to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Analyze internal data to identify trends and provide insights related to employee relations and absenteeism.
  • Represent the HR department in meetings, including taking minutes when necessary.
  • Assist in preparing invitations and outcome letters for employee meetings.
  • Manage referrals to our occupational health provider, ensuring prompt review of reports and follow-up actions.
  • Deliver training and guidance on company policies and procedures to staff through various communication channels.
  • Regularly review and update company policies to ensure compliance with current employment legislation.
  • Oversee the administration of employee relations documentation and related files.
  • Support organizational changes and restructuring efforts, ensuring proper consultation processes are followed.
  • Provide advice on employment terms and conditions.
  • Facilitate internal transfers and secondments.
  • Advise management on investigation procedures, ensuring thorough completion.
  • Engage in discussions with Trade Unions as necessary.
  • Coordinate meetings with key stakeholders to review ongoing cases and ensure timely closure.
  • Contribute to initiatives focused on Health & Wellbeing, Talent Development, and Succession Planning.
  • Collaborate proactively with the HR Business Partner on complex employee relations cases.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in an employee relations role, preferably within a logistics or transportation context. A flexible approach to travel across various sites is essential.

Candidates should hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification or higher and demonstrate strong IT skills. A solution-oriented mindset and the ability to manage complex issues to resolution are crucial. Experience in a unionized environment is advantageous.
