Job Description

This is a key role that demands a highly experienced professional to lead the commercial function, drive growth through innovative strategies, and build strong customer relationships. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities and position SMI as a leader in high-performance engineering solutions.

  • Develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy to drive revenue growth and expand market presence.
  • Lead and motivate the sales team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics, aligning them with business objectives.
  • Liaise with legal advisors to address complex commercial issues, demonstrating expertise in client contracts and contract amendments.

The Right Candidate

The successful candidate should possess:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales and marketing role, preferably within the engineering, defence, marine, or related sectors.
  • A history of developing and implementing client-focused technical solutions for strategic projects and deals.
  • Demonstrable achievements against challenging sales targets and complex sales cycles.
  • Experience negotiating commercial contract terms on long-term, complex projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to build high-performing teams.
  • A strategic thinker with expertise in developing and executing data-driven sales and marketing plans.

Salary Information

The base salary for this role is £90,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
