Role Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing leadership to the neurodevelopmental and learning disability pathway.
  • Delivering direct clinical services to young individuals and their families, particularly those with complex mental health needs.
  • Supporting the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in managing intricate cases.

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is recognized for its comprehensive care for a diverse range of mental and physical health conditions. Each CAMHS service operates under a structured management framework, ensuring effective collaboration and resource allocation.

Clinical Duties

The role involves:

  • Conducting initial and psychiatric assessments, including risk evaluations.
  • Implementing and monitoring pharmacological treatments.
  • Providing psychiatric consultations to the MDT and broader CAMHS team as necessary.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • A primary medical degree.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or expected completion of CCT.
  • Training or willingness to undertake training for Clinical Supervisor roles.
  • Experience in teaching and supervising junior staff.
  • Management training and experience in pediatrics.
Personal Attributes

This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, necessitating a Disclosure submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service for any prior criminal convictions.
