About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise to our Emotional Disorders Treatment Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric leadership to the Emotional Disorders Treatment Team
  • Conduct initial assessments, psychiatric assessments, risk assessments, and treatment, including initiation and monitoring of pharmacological treatments
  • Support the team with comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management planning, guided by the CAMHS care pathways and clinical model
  • Liaise with NHS England, Commissioners, and Tier 4 services when referral to Tier 4 is indicated
  • Contribute to the daytime duty consultant rota at Kensington & Chelsea CAMHS
  • Provide consultant support to the Urgent Care Team when the UCT consultant is on leave or unavailable
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records
  • Contribute to the collection and monitoring of Clinical Outcome data across the service
Requirements
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
  • Section 12 MHA Approved
  • Approved Clinician status or willingness to apply for approval
  • Primary medical degree
  • On the Specialist Register (or CCT expected within 6 months of interview date)
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • MRCPsych (or equivalent)
  • An additional postgraduate qualification of relevance to working with children and Adolescents
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or CCT expected within 6 months of interview date)
  • Completed training for Clinical Supervisor role, or willingness to attend training
