Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership to the neurodevelopmental and learning disability pathway.
- Deliver direct clinical care to young individuals and their families, particularly those with complex mental health needs.
- Support multidisciplinary team members in managing intricate cases.
Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is a leading mental health provider, dedicated to addressing a broad spectrum of mental and physical health challenges. Each CAMHS service operates under a local management framework, ensuring tailored support and care.
Clinical DutiesThe Consultant will engage in comprehensive assessments, including:
- Initial psychiatric evaluations
- Risk assessments
- Management and monitoring of pharmacological treatments
Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team is essential for effective diagnosis and management planning, adhering to established CAMHS care pathways.
Qualifications and SkillsThe ideal candidate will possess:
- A primary medical degree
- A relevant postgraduate qualification in child and adolescent psychiatry
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or expected CCT)
- Training for Clinical Supervisor role or willingness to undertake such training
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance and Care Quality standards
- Experience in teaching and supervising junior staff
- Expertise in managing complex emotional disorders and neurodevelopmental conditions
This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, necessitating a Disclosure submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service for any prior criminal convictions.
