Position Title: Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

The team engages in regular professional development sessions, care quality meetings, and management discussions, ensuring collaborative clinical governance.


Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership for the neurodevelopmental and learning disability pathway.
  • Deliver direct clinical services to young individuals and their families, particularly those with complex mental health needs.
  • Support multidisciplinary team members in managing intricate cases.

Additional Services:

Westminster CAMHS is well-equipped to provide early intervention services and specialized teams for children in care and pediatric liaison.


Clinical Duties:
  • Conduct initial and psychiatric assessments, including risk evaluations and treatment plans.
  • Engage in comprehensive assessment and management planning in line with CAMHS care pathways.
  • Offer psychiatric consultations to the multidisciplinary team as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Primary medical degree.
  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Completion of Clinical Supervisor training or willingness to undertake training.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and quality improvement processes.
  • Experience in teaching and supervising junior staff.
  • Expertise in managing complex emotional disorders and neurodevelopmental conditions.

Personal Attributes:

This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, necessitating a Disclosure submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service for any prior criminal convictions.
