Position Title: Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Organization: Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust

Employment Type: Permanent, Part-Time (8PAs)

Overview:

An exceptional opportunity exists within the Westminster CAMHS for a substantive Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, focusing on neurodevelopmental disorders. This role entails providing leadership and direct clinical support to young individuals and their families, particularly those facing complex mental health challenges.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the neurodevelopmental and learning disability pathway within the Westminster CAMHS.
  • Deliver clinical assessments, including initial and psychiatric evaluations, risk assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Support the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in managing complex cases.
  • Participate in monthly CPD sessions, local care quality meetings, and senior management meetings.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a primary medical degree along with a relevant postgraduate qualification for working with children and adolescents. Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is essential, or a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) expected within six months of the interview date.


Additional Skills:
  • Completion of Clinical Supervisor training or willingness to undertake such training.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance and Care Quality.
  • Experience in medical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in teaching and supervising junior staff and other professionals.
  • Experience in managing cases with complex presentations, including high-risk emotional disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Management training and experience in pediatrics.
