Job Opportunity: Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our nationally-recognized Adolescent Community Treatment Team within Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a dynamic team, develop creative service ideas, and contribute to teaching, training, and research initiatives.

This role involves providing high-intensity support to young people in the community, delivering individualized interventions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring continuity of care. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for assessments, treatment, medication management, and providing leadership within the team.

About the Role

  • Assuming Consultant responsibility for young people under the care of the Adolescent Community Treatment Service
  • Providing psychiatric assessments and treatment, including medication management
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and other agencies
  • Participating in clinical supervision and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Completion of Higher Psychiatric Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in assessing and managing risk in psychiatric settings
  • Competence in child and adolescent psychopharmacology
  • Excellent communication skills

Personal Qualities

  • Team player with the ability to prioritize and work flexibly
  • Strong ability to relate to young people and their families
