About the Role

As an inpatient CAMHS Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and management of cases
  • Collaborating with patients, carers, and external stakeholders to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Chairing MDT/CPA meetings and ensuring adherence to organizational admission and discharge policies
  • Preparing and supervising reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings
  • Contributing to unit governance through expertise and leadership

Key Responsibilities

As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and management of cases
  • Collaborating with patients, carers, and external stakeholders to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Chairing MDT/CPA meetings and ensuring adherence to organizational admission and discharge policies

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Registration on the specialist register with CAMHS CCT/CESR, along with valid AC Status
  • Experience and knowledge in CAMHS
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
  • Commitment to continued professional development
