Front of House Supervisor

Reports To: General Store Manager

Position Overview

As the Front of House Supervisor, you play a pivotal role in maintaining the service excellence and operational standards of our establishment. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that our guests receive exceptional service while fostering a clean and welcoming environment. You will be instrumental in driving sales and profitability through effective upselling techniques and outstanding guest care. Your leadership will inspire a motivated team that consistently delivers an enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Manage and oversee the Front of House operations in a dynamic restaurant environment.
  • Ensure that guest service aligns with company standards, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Address guest complaints promptly and take necessary actions to resolve issues effectively.
  • Guarantee that only the highest quality products are served to our guests.
  • Organize the Front of House workflow and supervise team responsibilities to enhance both employee and guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct comprehensive training for team members to promote exceptional guest service.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback to encourage motivation and productivity.
  • Maintain accurate stock inventory for the Front of House and analyze usage patterns.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations at all times.
  • Actively promote and enhance the brand image of German Doner Kebab.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture and lead by example.
  • Monitor Front of House operations and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Serve as duty manager on a rotational basis.
  • Lead pre- and post-shift meetings with the Front of House team to communicate objectives, share feedback, and relay business updates.
  • Take ownership of the Front of House's business performance.
  • Ensure operations adhere to company guidelines.
  • Investigate and address the root causes of guest complaints related to the Front of House.
  • Ensure all Front of House staff comply with uniform standards.
  • Welcome guests and manage table reservations effectively.
  • Supervise the shifts of dining and counter staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Uphold high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
  • Prepare cash drawers and manage petty cash as necessary.
  • Assist in various Front of House roles as required.
  • Encourage teamwork, cooperation, and a positive attitude within the team.
  • Complete daily reports at the end of each shift.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager based on business needs.
  • Collaborate with the General Store Manager to coordinate all Front of House activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in stock storage areas and the Front of House.
  • Work with the Store Team to achieve tight stock control and budgeted margins.
  • Complete necessary paperwork daily.
  • Engage with customers to model exceptional guest care.
  • Lead by example in maintaining high standards of guest service.
  • Support team members during peak times and undertake any operational duties as required.
  • Ensure the Front of House team is well-groomed and ready for service.
  • Adhere to all legal responsibilities and requirements associated with the business.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of all equipment and perform preventative maintenance as needed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Front of House Supervisor position should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong enthusiasm for teamwork. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Proven experience as a Supervisor or Duty Manager in the food service industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in guest service management.
  • Extensive knowledge of guest care principles.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and computer literacy.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Financial management acumen.
