About the Role:

GLL is seeking a dedicated Senior Library Assistant to enhance our team at Skegness Library, contributing 17 hours weekly. In this role, you will engage with the community in a vibrant library setting, providing access to a diverse range of collections and resources, including literature, public access technology, and local history archives.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Welcome visitors warmly and ensure a clean, safe, and inviting atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.
  • Recognize and adapt to the diverse needs of our patrons, assisting them in discovering our extensive range of resources and services.
  • Utilize your enthusiasm for libraries and community involvement to support patrons in various activities, from exploring new literature to researching family histories.
  • Design and implement engaging programs for children and families, including storytelling sessions and creative activities.
  • Follow all safeguarding policies and operational procedures to maintain a secure environment for all users.
  • Engage with visitors through meaningful interactions, understanding their needs and providing appropriate assistance.
  • Participate actively in training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.

  • Strong IT proficiency and knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, numeracy, and literacy skills.
  • Organizational and administrative capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Library Management Systems is beneficial.
  • A commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • A collaborative team player with a vibrant personality.
  • Evidence of being organized and efficient.
  • Customer Service Qualification is a plus.
