Position Title: Housing Support Specialist

Contract Type: Temporary, 22 Week Engagement (Potential for Extension)
Work Arrangement: Flexible/Hybrid (3 Days Remote Work)
Background Check: DBS Required
Start Date: Immediate

We are looking for committed Housing Support Specialists to join our team at Service Care Solutions. In this role, you will deliver exceptional service to individuals and families seeking assistance with housing issues. Your responsibilities will include evaluating homelessness applications, ensuring adherence to legal standards, and providing guidance to avert homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as the primary contact for inquiries related to housing support.
2. Evaluate, process, and make determinations on homelessness applications in accordance with relevant legislation.
3. Ensure compliance with legal requirements by issuing notifications and decisions in a timely manner.
4. Offer guidance and support to individuals facing homelessness to prevent their displacement whenever feasible.
5. Conduct interviews to explore housing options, assess individual circumstances, verify documentation, and update Personal Housing Plans.
6. Perform affordability assessments and assist clients in finding appropriate housing solutions.
7. Recommend temporary accommodation placements when necessary.
8. Conduct risk assessments and follow safeguarding protocols.
9. Review applications for the housing register and establish priority based on documented evidence.
10. Address potential fraud cases and support related investigations.
11. Assist with statutory reviews and respond to legal challenges, including court appearances if required.
12. Manage routine and non-routine correspondence, including addressing complaints and inquiries from stakeholders.
13. Provide support to the Housing Solutions Team Leader as needed.

Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to adapt to various communication methods.
- Strong understanding of housing legislation, including the Housing Act and the Homelessness Reduction Act.
- Proficient in IT applications, including Microsoft Office and job-specific software.
