About the Role

Hestia Housing Support is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Housing Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Domestic Abuse Support team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our housing management functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Property Management: Manage an allocated patch of properties, ensuring that all housing management functions, including health and safety, maintenance, and voids control, are carried out in accordance with policy.
  • Rent Collection and Arrears Recovery: Manage service users' rent and charges collection, arrears avoidance control, and debt management, working closely with the Rents team to ensure timely and accurate rent account establishment.
  • Service User Support: Provide support to new service users, including assistance with welfare benefits, such as housing benefit and personal charge payments, and ensuring that they have access to the necessary resources and services.
  • Partnership Working: Liaise with partner Registered Providers, ensuring adherence to Management Agreements, and work collaboratively with support workers, Local Authorities, and referrers to ensure the safety and security of our properties.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular performance reports to your line Manager, analyzing and presenting financial data to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • Experience: An in-depth understanding of all aspects of housing management, including rent collection and arrears recovery, and experience of working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including service users, staff, and external partners.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of civil options available to ensure the safety of our properties, and experience of move-on options for people living in supported accommodation.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in the use of electronic recording systems to accurately record data, and able to analyze and present financial data to a range of audiences.
