Position Overview:
Subsea7 is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to enhance our Central Engineering team within the UK & Global IRM department. This role can be filled on either a Staff or Contract basis.

Role Responsibilities:
In this dynamic and technically challenging environment, you will engage with a variety of engineering projects. Your primary responsibility will be to support the execution of structural design scopes associated with both tenders and ongoing projects.

Key Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in structural engineering and analysis of offshore and subsea steel structures.
  • In-depth experience in sea fastening, lift rigging, and installation aid design.
  • Chartered Engineer status or nearing completion.

What You Will Do:
  • Deliver specialized skills, integrity, and knowledge in subsea structures engineering, including design codes and legislative requirements.
  • Oversee the production of deliverables, which may encompass design reports, engineering support to the Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, and various third-party submissions.
  • Ensure design and detailing adhere to industry codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Generate and verify design documentation, including feasibility reports and detailed design reports.
  • Produce specifications, data sheets, and Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
  • Conduct stress analysis for various subsea structures using software such as STAAD Pro, FS2000, ANSYS, and ABAQUS.
  • Provide structural engineering support during site operations as required.
  • Assist in Business Acquisition and FEED study execution.
  • Mentor and train junior and graduate engineers.

Desired Experience:
  • Degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline.
  • Experience in structural subsea roles.
  • Familiarity with the production and verification of design documentation.
  • Proficient in using STAAD Pro, FS2000, ANSYS, and ABAQUS.
  • Ability to lead a design team across multiple projects.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines set by management.
  • Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and design guidelines.
  • Experience in delivering stress analysis work on projects.
  • Ability to support package engineering and management.
  • Provide structural engineering support for multi-discipline projects and studies.
