Position Overview

Subsea7 is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to become a vital part of our Central Engineering team within the UK & Global IRM department. This role can be filled on either a Staff or Contract basis.

Role Responsibilities

In this position, you will engage in a variety of technical and complex engineering projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert knowledge in the field of structural engineering and analysis for offshore and subsea structures.
  • Supporting the execution of structural design scopes for both tender submissions and ongoing projects.
  • Producing and reviewing deliverables such as design reports, engineering calculations, specifications, and progress reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry codes, standards, and design guidelines.
  • Conducting stress analysis for various subsea structures using software tools like STAAD Pro, FS2000, ANSYS, and ABAQUS.
  • Offering structural engineering support during site operations when necessary.
  • Mentoring junior and graduate engineers to foster their professional development.
Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline.
  • Significant experience in structural engineering for subsea applications.
  • Proficiency in producing and reviewing design documentation.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software for structural analysis.
  • The ability to lead a design team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
  • A comprehensive understanding of industry codes and standards.
