Position Overview:
Subsea7 is seeking a highly skilled Lead Structural Engineer to become a vital part of our Central Engineering team within the UK & Global IRM division. This role can be filled on either a Staff or Contract basis.

Role Responsibilities:
In this dynamic and challenging environment, you will engage with a variety of engineering projects. Your primary responsibility will be to support the execution of structural design scopes for both tenders and ongoing projects.

Key Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in structural engineering and analysis of offshore and subsea steel structures.
  • Significant experience in sea fastening, lift rigging, and installation aid design.
  • Chartered Engineer status or in the process of obtaining it.

What You Will Do:
  • Deliver specialized skills and knowledge in subsea structures engineering, ensuring compliance with design codes and legislative requirements.
  • Take ownership of deliverables, including the preparation and review of design reports, engineering support to the Drawing Office, and various third-party submissions.
  • Design and detail in accordance with industry standards, client specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Generate and verify design documentation, including feasibility studies and detailed design reports.
  • Conduct stress analysis for various subsea structures using software such as STAAD Pro, FS2000, ANSYS, and ABAQUS.
  • Provide structural engineering support during site work as needed.
  • Assist in Business Acquisition and FEED study execution.
  • Mentor junior and graduate engineers.

Desired Experience:
  • Degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline.
  • Experience in structural subsea roles.
  • Proficiency in producing and reviewing design documentation.
  • Familiarity with STAAD Pro, FS2000, ANSYS, and ABAQUS.
  • Ability to lead design teams across multiple projects.
  • Capability to meet deadlines set by management.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
  • Experience in delivering stress analysis work on projects.
  • Support for package engineering and management.
  • Provide structural engineering assistance for multi-discipline projects.
