Join Our Team as a Lead Structural Engineer

Subsea7 is excited to announce an opening for a Lead Structural Engineer to become a vital part of our Central Engineering team within the UK & Global IRM division. This role is available on either a permanent or contract basis.

In this position, you will navigate a technical and dynamic environment, engaging with a variety of engineering projects. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the execution of structural design tasks for both tender submissions and ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your extensive expertise in structural engineering and analysis of offshore and subsea frameworks.
  • Oversee the execution of deliverables, which may encompass the preparation and review of design reports, engineering support to the Drawing Office, calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports, and various third-party submissions.
  • Ensure design and detailing adhere to recognized industry codes, standards, and guidelines, as well as client specifications and scopes of work.
  • Generate and verify design documentation, including feasibility studies, detailed design reports, and equipment specifications.
  • Conduct stress analysis for various subsea structures using software such as STAAD Pro, FS, ANSYS, and ABAQUS.
  • Provide specialized structural engineering support during occasional site work.
  • Assist in Business Acquisition and FEED study execution with your structural expertise.
  • Mentor and guide junior and graduate engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in structural subsea engineering in a similar capacity.
  • Familiarity with the production and verification of design documentation.
  • Proficient in using STAAD Pro, FS, ANSYS, and ABAQUS or similar software.
  • Ability to lead a design team and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong capability to meet deadlines set by management.
  • Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and design guidelines.
  • Experience in delivering stress analysis for projects.
  • Ability to support package engineering and management.
  • Provide structural engineering support for multi-discipline projects, Business Acquisition, and FEED study execution.
