We are seeking a Lead Project Engineer specializing in Pipeline Installation to become a part of our dynamic team. This role is based in our Westhill office and is offered on a full-time contract basis.

This position involves working on a dedicated project within our Pipeline Group (PG) team, which is responsible for supporting all pipelay operations globally. The Project Engineers play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the installation engineering team, providing consistent operational updates on project engineering tasks, technical matters, and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of method engineers to manage project scopes from initial engagement with clients to offshore execution on our reel lay assets.
  • Act as a technical authority for pipeline installation and assist in the selection of subcontractors.
  • Develop installation method statements and procedures, support procurement processes, and follow up with subcontractors, while actively promoting HSEQ initiatives and preparing technical presentations.
  • Conduct installation rigging calculations and design rigging solutions.
  • Support the Tendering department with feasibility assessments, method statements, manhour estimates, scheduling inputs, and cost analysis.
  • Oversee the procurement, fabrication, and testing of installation aids.
  • Monitor your scope of work offshore on our installation vessels.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Marine, Naval, Offshore Technology, Civil, Mechanical, or a related field.
  • Significant experience as a project engineer, particularly within the offshore energy sector.
  • Familiarity with offshore pipeline installation techniques, especially in the reel lay discipline (e.g., Reel Lay, J-Lay, S-Lay).
  • Experience in leading and guiding engineering teams through project scopes.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization, and comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively.
