About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Pipeline Engineer to join our Central Engineering team at Subsea7. This is a full-time position, and we welcome applications from both staff and contract candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in rigid subsea pipeline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements, client specifications, and industry engineering practice.
  • Conduct subsea pipeline analysis using available tools and software, such as Abaqus, DNV tools, and Mathcad spreadsheets.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables, including design reports, calculation sheets, FE analysis, and engineering checks.
  • Offer engineering support to Tendering teams, Project teams, Field Development group, and other stakeholders.
  • Operate within standardized engineering processes and systems in the Business Management and Knowledge Management Centre.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety objectives and legislation requirements.
  • Manage external and internal interfaces, including clients, subcontractors, and project personnel.
  • Provide pipeline engineering support for the execution of multi-discipline projects within defined budget and schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as project engineering managers, engineering departments, and supply chain management.
  • Participate in the consolidation of pipeline engineering knowledge and propose innovative solutions to reduce costs and risks.
  • Act as a mentor for junior and graduate engineers.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Be a Chartered Engineer or working towards this certification.
  • Have experience in pipeline in-place design and trawling analysis.
  • Have scripting or software development experience, preferably in Python or VBA.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of subsea pipeline engineering, including design codes, standards, and software tools.
  • Be experienced in pipeline FEA-based design and analysis using ABAQUS.
  • Have experience in delivering pipeline engineering, including in-place analysis of exposed and buried pipelines.
  • Be able to work effectively as a team member across multiple projects and possess good communication skills.
  • Present yourself in a professional manner and demonstrate integrity and respect for others.
  • Have good organizational and time management skills and be able to work to deadlines.
