Children's Rights Administration Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Rights Administration Assistant to join our dynamic Children's Rights division at Bloomsbury Publishing Plc. This role is essential in providing administrative support to the Rights Managers who are responsible for negotiating licenses and co-editions.

Bloomsbury Publishing Plc is renowned for its diverse portfolio of children's literature, ranging from early picture books to engaging chapter books, illustrated works, and young adult fiction. The Rights Administration Assistant will be a key contributor to the Rights team and the organization as a whole. This position presents an exciting opportunity for individuals with relevant experience seeking a new challenge or for those entering the field.

The role reports directly to the Head of Children's Rights.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive administrative support, including processing contracts, managing orders, distributing translated author copies, and supplying electronic files. Oversee co-edition fulfillment, which includes entering deals into the system, maintaining schedules, acquiring customer files, and approving materials and invoicing. Address inquiries from internal teams, external clients, and authors. Assist the rights team in preparing for major book fairs and sales events. Support the administrative management of our flagship fiction brands. Aid in the development of rights guides and catalogues. Regularly update and maintain our industry-leading rights website. Compile and distribute email newsletters to clients and manage contact lists. Facilitate the sale of cover, illustration, and marketing materials to international publishing partners.

Required Skills and Experience

A strong interest in rights sales and a passion for literature. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with creative/design software such as Photoshop and email marketing tools. Excellent organizational capabilities. Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong time-management skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Exceptional collaboration and communication abilities. An appreciation for diverse cultures and international perspectives.

Additional Information

This is a full-time permanent position.

Compensation: £27,000

The position offers a hybrid working model, allowing for a combination of office and remote work.
