We are seeking a Rights Coordinator to become a part of our dynamic Children's Rights team at Bloomsbury Publishing plc, providing essential administrative assistance to the Rights Managers who oversee the licensing and co-edition sales.

Bloomsbury Publishing plc is renowned for its diverse collection of children's literature, ranging from initial picture books to chapter books, illustrated editions, and young adult novels. Our Children's division has been recognized as the Children's Publisher of the Year at the British Book Awards and has also achieved accolades at the Independent Publishing Awards.

The Rights Coordinator will be integral to the Rights team and the broader organization. This position presents an exciting opportunity for individuals with relevant experience seeking a new challenge, as well as for those entering the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including processing contracts, managing gratis orders, distributing translated author copies, and supplying electronic files.
  • Oversee co-edition fulfillment, which involves entering deals into Biblio, maintaining timelines, acquiring customer files, approving materials, and managing invoicing.
  • Address inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, clients, and authors.
  • Assist the rights team in preparing for significant book fairs and sales events.
  • Support the administrative management of our prominent fiction brands, such as Harry Potter and works by Sarah J. Maas.
  • Aid in the creation of rights guides and catalogues.
  • Regularly update and maintain our leading rights website.
  • Compile and distribute email newsletters to clients while managing contact lists.
  • Facilitate the sale of cover art, illustrations, and marketing materials to international publishing partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A genuine interest in rights sales and a passion for literature.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with creative/design software such as Photoshop and email marketing tools.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Capability to manage a diverse workload and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent time-management skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
