Position Overview:

In the role of Construction Quality Assurance Specialist within the Capital Delivery (Storage) Team, you will be instrumental in executing reservoir and water treatment facility projects across various regions. Your on-site involvement will enable collaboration with Project Managers and Contractors to uphold quality standards and mitigate risks. Through thorough audits, inspections, and testing, you will ensure that construction meets the highest standards of compliance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Set a standard for health and safety practices, leading site inductions, safety briefings, and toolbox discussions. Perform site evaluations, identify potential hazards, and carry out risk assessments. Proactively address possible specification and design concerns before they impact construction timelines or budgets. Support Project Managers in overseeing contractors, ensuring effective risk management measures are implemented. Evaluate contractor performance through regular audits and maintain comprehensive records of construction activities. Review contractor methodologies to ensure alignment with established RAMs, standards, and specifications. Verify that construction practices and materials provided by contractors adhere to relevant standards and regulations. Investigate non-conformities, devise solutions, and take charge of defect identification and resolution processes. Report and analyze SHEQ hazards, near misses, and incidents. Oversee testing and commissioning processes and manage acceptance protocols. Assess completed work, certify adherence to quality standards, and facilitate handover processes, including addressing snagging items. Explore innovative materials and technologies to fulfill maintenance and construction needs. Offer technical expertise in construction while safeguarding water hygiene principles.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in managing contractors and subcontractors. Proven track record in ensuring quality control and workmanship during construction activities. Familiarity with water industry standard specifications. At least 3 years of experience in managing or supervising construction sites. Relevant CSCS card and/or SMSTS certification. Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces. Possession of a full clean UK manual driving license.
