Position Overview:

In the role of Construction Quality Assurance Specialist within the Capital Delivery (Storage) Team, you will be instrumental in overseeing reservoir and water treatment structure initiatives across our Central, South, and South East regions. Your on-site presence will facilitate collaboration with Project Managers and Contractors to uphold quality standards and mitigate risks. Through audits, inspections, and testing, you will ensure that construction meets high-quality, compliance, and safety benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

Address potential specification and design challenges proactively to prevent impacts on construction, costs, or timelines. Support Project Managers in contractor oversight, ensuring that construction risk management measures are effectively implemented. Review contractor methodologies to confirm adherence to accepted RAMs, standards, and specifications. Verify that construction practices and materials provided by contractors align with applicable standards, specifications, and regulations. Investigate instances of non-compliance, devise solutions, and take responsibility for identifying and resolving defects. Report and examine SHEQ hazards, near misses, and incidents. Observe testing and commissioning processes and manage acceptance protocols. Evaluate completed work, certify adherence to quality standards, and oversee handover processes, including addressing snagging items. Research new materials and technological applications to fulfill maintenance and construction needs. Offer technical expertise in construction while safeguarding water hygiene principles.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in managing contractors and subcontractors. Proven track record in ensuring quality and workmanship during construction activities. Familiarity with water industry standard specifications. At least 3 years of experience in managing or supervising construction sites. Relevant CSCS card and/or SMSTS certification. Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces. Possession of a full clean UK manual driving license.

Benefits:

Standard working hours: 08:00am - 16:00pm (Monday - Thursday) and 08:00am - 15:30pm (Friday).
